1. read to your child - 15 minutes a day builds a strong base for early reading skills

2. make Letter sounds - early reading goal - recognize the uppercase letters and produce the letter sound.
extension activities: 1) at mealtime talk about the first/middle/last sounds of foods. 2) utilize teachable moments (names, signs, product packaging) to talk about Letters & letter sounds. |
3. play Rhyming Games - early reading goal - make rhyming words, recognize words (by listening)
extension activities: 1) use your child's age to find rhyme words (Five = live, survive, strive, etc.) 2) play a game to find rhymes for favorite foods. |
4. sing "Where is Thumbkin?" - early reading goal - reproduce words, Keep pace & prosody of song, remember hand movements.
